Karl Kapp, Ed.D, is a professor of instructional technology at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA. where he teaches a graduate level course on gamification. He is author of six books on the convergence of learning and technology. His latest are The Gamification of Learning and Instruction and its accompanying fieldbook from which much of the material for this webinar is drawn. In his Gamification books, Karl explores the research and theoretical foundations behind effective game-based learning. He examines everything from variable reward schedules to the use of avatars to the use of games to teach pro-social behaviors.
Karl speaks internationally at conferences and to private organizations and governments throughout the world, has been interviewed by television and radio and is a Lynda.com author. Karl is committed to helping organization’s develop an interactive and engaging approach to organizational learning. He believes that effective education and learning designs are the keys to increased productivity and profitability. He has been called a “Rock Star” of eLearning and is listed among the top gamification experts in the world as it relates to learning and instruction.
In his spare time, Karl likes to build Lego models, read spy novels, travel internationally and play all sorts of video games.
